Following a year of preparation, a team of 15 students and adults left Fayetteville First United Methodist Church for Corozol, Belize, on July 10 for an eight-day mission trip. The team returned late on July 17, grateful for their experience.

While in Belize, the group engaged with a local church, Corozal Full Gospel Church, through Vacation Bible School, sports activities, music and worship along with visits in neighborhoods and orphanages.

“The team appreciates the financial support given by the community through purchasing coffee from the Praying Pelican, the organizing group of the mission, prayer crosses for the team to take and for individuals here in the States to use, a golf tournament and a talent show,” said group organizer Chris Mucha, youth minister at FFUMC.

Tommy Erbe, assistant youth director, added, “We had a great time continuing to connect with God’s kingdom in Corozal. It was great to share love with those in another part of our world.”

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church is at 175 East Lanier Ave., next to the historic courthouse in Fayetteville. Visit fayettevillefirst.com or call 770-461-4313 for more information.
