Georgia’s report on schools’ “climate” released last month show that all of Fayette’s schools earned either a five or four star rating, meaning that they are fostering a positive and safe learning environment for students.
The ratings have improved from last year’s data when six schools earned a rating of three, which is average. Ratings of five and four equate to excellent and above average, respectively.
Schools earning a five-star rating are J.C. Booth Middle, McIntosh High, Rising Starr Middle, and Whitewater Middle. All other schools earned a four-star rating.
Four criteria are used to determine the ratings: student disciplinary records; surveys filled out by parents, students, and faculty; school discipline incidents; and student attendance records. Schools receive ratings from 1 to 5.
