Truck stolen in Fayetteville recovered

There was a vehicle theft, a burglary, two entering auto incidents and theft of equipment reported in Fayette County during the week of June 21-27.
 
The theft of a box truck owned by J and R Clothing on Ga. Highway 85 North in Fayetteville was reported on June 20. The truck was subsequently located in Stockbridge, said Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow, adding that the Stockbridge Police Department is investigating.
 
Unincorporated Fayette County experienced two entering auto incidents during the period.
 
One of the incidents occurred at the Kenwood Landing Mobile Home Park on Greenview Circle in north Fayette. The victim on June 20 reported that a cell phone, wallet and Glock 9mm handgun were stolen from his unlocked vehicle, according to Sheriff Barry Babb.
 
The second incident, also reported on June 20, occurred at the Storage Xxtra store on Hwy. 85 North. The unlocked vehicle was rummaged through with cash and keys stolen, Babb said.
 
In Peachtree City, a burglary was reported on June 23 at a residence on Beaver Dam Road off Wynnmeade Parkway. Specifics such as the method of entry and items stolen were not available at press time.
 
Also in Peachtree City, officers received a June 23 report from Clayton State University on Commerce Drive that a Stihl packpack blower valued at $400 had been stolen.
