Mr. James Earle Donaldson, III age 85 of Brooks, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Eternal Hope Hospice.
Mr. Donaldson was born in Memphis, Tenn. on August 30, 1930.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Earle Donaldson, Jr., and Edith Forbes Donaldson; step father, Dennis Mobley; great grandchild, Taylor Thompson. Mr. Donaldson was 6 years old when his family moved to Jackson, Miss., and moved to Georgia in 1982. He graduated from Northwestern Bible College in 1950, was a veteran of the United States Army, and retired from Northwestern Air Lines. He loved flying, race cars, and loved to laugh and make others laugh. Mr. Donaldson was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was a member of Woolsey Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Donaldson; children, James Donaldson and wife, Mary, Jeff Donaldson and wife, Anna, Jane Gardner and husband, Woody; grandchildren, Tina Gaston and husband, Jodie, Jenni Bayne and husband, Brian, Sara Sammons and husband, David, Marcy Williams Pudalov and husband, Eric, Kelly Robillard and husband, Ryan, Kathryn Trussell and husband, Ryan, Jessica Williams and husband, Corey; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Bobbette Florey, Katie Sistar, Dorothy Giles and husband, Jamie; brother, George Donaldson and wife, Sandra.
Visitation for Mr. James E. Donaldson, III was on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service was conducted in the chapel. Pastor Chuck Chambers and Pastor Clay Edge officiated. Interment was in Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville, Ga.
