Elizabeth Lucille “Ruby” Sanford, age 91, formerly of Knoxville, Tenn. went home to be with Jesus on March 3, 2016.
Remembered by so many as Momma, Granny, and Rubarb, as well as by her love for Jesus, her family and Tennessee. She will be greatly missed. She was a follower of Christ and showed His love to all that crossed her path. From the sweetest lady many of us have known may your hearts be filled with the love she showed to so many and remember as she would say, “Jesus loves you and I love you.” Now she is at rest and rejoicing.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Lucy “Pearl” Sanford; brother Charles Sanford; sisters Marie Palmer, Allie Hoffart, Betty Ruth Sanford, and Nadine Sanford.
She is survived by son Jerry Sanford, Sr. and daughter-in-law Colleen Sanford; grandchildren Jerry Sanford, Jr., Lisa (Rick) Ogan, and Beth Sanford; great-grandchildren Hailey Rose and Pyper Grace; 26 nieces and nephews; and multiple great (great) nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Knoxville, Tenn., with service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Eric Palmer officiated. Interment followed at 3 p.m. at Bookwalter Cemetery, Knoxville, Tenn.
