Edgar “Ed” Williams, 84, of Fayetteville passed away March 5, 2016.

Mr. Williams served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean war era, later working as an electrician for Ford Motor Company, where he retired after a microwave oven injury suffered at work. His grandchildren became the light of his life and along with the love of his wife, continued his consistent caring for those around him. He was a 50 year member of the College Park Masonic Lodge number 454.†Most of all, he was a Christian who loved the Lord, and his family.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Helen Turner Williams; sons David (Caroline) Williams, Timothy (Jean) Williams, and Philip (Donna) Williams; grandchildren Eric, Evan, Eli, Emily, Jennifer, Kim, Kristin, Dalton, Micah, and Joseph; great grandchildren Daniel, Haleigh, Easton, Conner, and McKenna.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Carl J. Mowell & Son, Fayetteville Chapel. The interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, 5 – 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
