Janet Cerame McKenzie, 85, of Peachtree City entered into eternal life on February 22, 2016.
She loved spending time with her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mimi.” Janet acted as a social director for her friends, organizing events and activities. She was a world traveler who loved the theatre, movies and dining out with family and friends. Janet was a member of the Peachtree City Gathering Place, the Red Hat Society, Pioneer Club, Bunco, and volunteered as the secretary for Fayette County Parks and Recreation. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jeannette Smith and her husband Domenic Cerame. Those who are left to cherish her memory are her daughter Maryellen Austin and husband Doug of Griffin; her son James Cerame and wife Julie of Peachtree City; her son William Cerame and wife Deborah of Cary, N.C.; her grandchildren David Sewall and wife Jennifer of Atlanta; Christina Sherstad and husband Brandon of Tomball, Texas; Joseph Sewall of Senoia; Ashley Garrett and husband Kyle of Augusta; Michael Cerame of Peachtree City; Anthony Cerame and wife Jessica of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; Steven Cerame and wife Jessica of Clayton, N.C.; brother Raymond Smith and wife Barbara of Rockaway, N.J.; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and greatnephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City.
