Charlotte June Comstock, known to her family as Bobbie, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2016.
Bobbie was born the daughter of Marie and Homer Lightle on May 16, 1931 in Deer Park, Ohio and was raised in Gas City, Ind. In 1952, she married Richard Lee (Dick) Comstock, who remained her dancing partner for 60 years until his death in 2012.
Due to the demands of Dick’s job, the Comstock family lived in many states as well as Canada before settling in Casey, Ill. where they raised their three daughters Connie Woods (Tony) of Taylorville, Ill; Toni Prahl (Jack) of Peachtree City, Ga.; and Jamie Williamson (Larry) of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. In addition to her daughters, Charlotte will be missed by her four grandchildren: Carmen Hurst (Brad), Cumming, Ga.; Justin Jansen (Jill), Peoria, Ill.; Brian Prahl (Lauren), Lexington, S.C. and Jessi Asmundson (Sean), Atlanta, Ga.; her 7 great-grandchildren: her sister Patty Spratley, Tucson, Ariz., and the nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
After Charlotte and Dick left Casey, they lived in six states and many foreign countries before settling in Gulf Breeze, Fla. During her life, Charlotte was active in civic organizations, volunteer work, and her church. Charlotte’s greatest joys in life revolved around her family, her many friends, her love of nature, and helping those less fortunate. She radiated optimism, gratefulness, and compassion. She also enjoyed a home filled with music, especially Frank Sinatra.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, 200 Robinson Road, Peachtree City, Ga.
