Just over a month ago the Starr’s Mill High Cajon Trio performed at a conference for Georgia school board members and superintendents, and now the group has been invited for another performance, this time at the annual Georgia Music Educators Association conference in Athens.
A Cajon is a wooden box made from plywood that is played like a drum. The player sits on top of the Cajon and hits the front surface. Beating on different parts of the front surface gives different sounds. Most Cajons are about one foot square and 18 inches tall.
The Starr’s Mill High Cajon Trio will play for music educators across the state as a Lobby Performing Ensemble at the Athens Classic Center Jan. 29 starting at 3 p.m. Members of the trio are Adam Warner, Carter Rogers and Brian Buck.
