Mr. Hugh Ronald “Ronnie” Turner, age 70, of Newnan, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016.
Born in East Point on April 2, 1945, he was raised in the Red Oak area of College Park. He was a police detective having worked with the City of East Point. He was the owner of Ron Turner & Associates, Inc., an investigative company, for 26 years. Mr. Turner served in the Georgia National Guard, and was a member of: Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church, past master of East Point Masonic Lodge Number 288 F.&A.M, Southside Scottish Rite and Scottish Rite Temple. In his spare time, Ronnie enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ruby Byrd Turner and son-in-law, Cary Lumsden, and is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elise Adams Turner of Newnan; daughter, Rhonda Lumsden-Morris and her husband Allan of Senoia; son, Shane Turner and his wife Julie of Suwanee; daughter, Katie Turner-Salazar and her husband Vicente of Maysville; grandchildren: Kelsey and Matthew Lumsden, Megan and Mason Turner, and Leo Salazar; and brother, Tom Turner and his wife Maria of Herriman, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville with remains in state at 10 a.m. Pastor Dennis Watson, Rev. Keith Turner. Rev. Gary Taber and Mr. Greg Smith will be officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
