The Peachtree City Police Department will host its fourth “Coffee With a Cop” event Tuesday, Jan. 19, 7-9 a.m. at the Starr’s Mill Chick-fil-A, 1222 Hwy. 74 South.

There is no cost to attend.

Citizens are invited to come out, have a coffee and get to know the city’s officers, including new police Chief Janet Moon. Moon, who previously served as Deputy Chief of Police for the City of Suwanee, took over as Peachtree City’s first female police chief in August.

“These events have proven to be highly successful as part of our effort to foster new relationships with our citizens,” said Lt. Mark Brown, spokesman for the Peachtree City Police Department. “This is just another great opportunity for Chief Moon and our officers to enjoy some conversation with members of our community.”

Coffee With a Cop is part of a national program supported by the U.S. Department of Justice that has been used in 47 states. The program states that one of its key successes is that it removes the physical barriers and crisis situations that routinely define interactions between law enforcement officials and community members.
