A Dec. 2 armed home invasion at the Kenwood Landing Mobile Home Park in north Fayette County left the three victims shaken but unharmed.

Sheriff Barry Babb said the home invasion occurred just after midnight at a residence on Woodview Road off Milam Road.

Babb said three males went to the residence and initially knocked on the door. The mother of the three-person household told deputies she looked out the window and saw the three men at the door. Two were wearing red bandanas and the third was wearing a clown mask with orange hair.

The men kicked the door in and entered the home, Babb said. Two of the men had handguns while the third was carrying a long gun, though Babb said it was not known if the gun was a shotgun or a rifle.

The armed men confronted the couple and their 18-year-old daughter, demanding that they turn over their cell phones, Babb said, adding that they took one operable cell phone and another that was inoperable.

The men ransacked the living room and left with two televisions, the man’s wallet, his wife’s purse and a lamp. One of the home invaders fired a shot into the floor as the three left the home, said Babb.

Babb said the residents of the home were uninjured in the incident.

The three men were described as black, wearing all black clothing and 6’-6’4” in height.

Sheriff’s investigators are continuing the investigation of the home invasion.
