“The Ladies of the Book,” a Peachtree City book club consisting of talented retired ladies, will participate in the St. Andrew’s Fine Art & Craft Fair on Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

A special gift of Hudson Bay Blankets from Dolly Morgan, 99 years young, widow of former Peachtree City Mayor, Howard Morgan, inspired the talented Carolyn Browning to fashion two fully dressed bears aptly named Dolly and Howard. The blankets were a wedding gift to Dolly and Howard in 1942.

Dolly stays active playing dual grand pianos with three other ladies every Monday. She enjoys playing bridge, especially at the St. Andrew’s Spring Bridge Luncheon. She has been known to kayak and still enjoys a swim.

Book club member Nancy Wortman donated an antique Amish quilt that has been re-fashioned into soft animals and incorporated into a denim skirt.

Member Oleda Hare donated her hand-made China doll While Faye Williams donated several cross stitched art pieces.

Honey Corbin will show her fine art prints.

The book club will donate a portion of the proceeds to a local charity. Some items will be part of a silent auction.

Russ Gariota, husband of book club member Linda Gariota, will participate, showing his hand carved birds created from golf club woods and sculptures from driftwood.

Over 20 juried vendors will participate in the fair, which is held in conjunction with St. Andrew’s ECW Bazaar, bake sale and golden elephant.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is at 316 Peachtree Parkway North, Peachtree City. For more information, call 770-487-8415.
