Hands for Haiti

Mission Possible youth volunteers from Holy Trinity Church in Peachtree City worked hard Nov. 7 to help change lives in Haiti.

Eleven volunteers cleaned and recycled many of the donated tools from the ‘Tools For Empowerment’ Trick-or-Treat For Tools campaign. Young vocational graduates in Haiti are excited to receive these refurbished tools.

A huge influx of donated tools came from First Presbyterian, St. George’s in Newnan, Holy Trinity, and Church of Christ as well as a large number of retail drop points in Peachtree City.

Vocational graduates in Haiti are able to get a good education in trade skills thanks to the Salesian Missions vocational schools. But most graduate with no tools and they are expensive to buy locally so they have no opportunity for employment. Receiving a tool kit enables the graduates to either get a job or start their own enterprise. These Haitian youth go from perpetual poverty to being a contributing part of their community – a life-changing event!

The Mission Possible group volunteers regularly for various community service projects including helping older residents with projects around their homes.
