Charles Travis Washington, 82 of Peachtree City, Ga. died Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga following a brief illness.
Charles was born in Atlanta, Ga., May 5th, 1933, to Travis Allen & Hilda Lewis Washington. He was a lifelong banker retiring from SunTrust Bank. He loved his time spent in Alaska while serving in the United States Army. He was an accomplished marksman and a staunch supporter of the NRA. He was a member of the South River Gun Club in Covington, Ga. and enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Peachtree with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Warmbrod Washington and brother, Chris Washington of Newnan, Ga.
He is survived by niece and nephew, David and Candace Bennett Christensen of Blairsville, Ga.; brother-in-law, Steve Bennett of Blairsville, Ga.; cousins Donald and Carlene Lewis of Crossville, Tenn.; cousins Bobby and Linda Lewis of College Park, Ga.; cousins Gail Melton of Jackson, Ga. and Gwen Graves of Augusta, Ga. and many other cousins and close friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. November 21st with Pastor Ed Nelson officiating at Bethany United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Ga.
