At its October meeting, the Fayette Society of Fine Art presented a check to the art department of Flat Rock Middle School.

FSOFA is a nonprofit organization that makes an art contribution to some organization in our community each year. This year the award was presented to Candace Madson, art teacher at Flat Rock, to use for extra supplies for her art students.

Madson did a demonstration and lecture to the FSOFA members at the meeting. Her presentation was primarily on block printing, but she gave other information as well.

The Fayette Society of Fine Art meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Heritage Bank in Fayetteville. The meetings usually consist of refreshments, a short business meeting, and an art demonstration. The members are very diverse in their talents. All levels of fine artists are invited, from beginners to professionals.
