William A. “Billy Dean” Mathis, 79, of Woodland, Ga., passed away October 24, 2015.
Billy Dean was a member of the VFW, an avid gardener, and was most known for his work with the Jonesboro Police Department. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Billy Dean is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Sherry (Tim) Moore, sons Donald Mathis and James (Evonda) Mathis, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sister Martha Sue (Lyndon) DeWitt.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, prior to the service.
