A total of 11 entering auto incidents have occurred in Peachtree City in the past week. Of those, nine of the incidents may or may not be connected to the car stolen on Sept. 11 that resulted in a chase that ended on Ga. Highway 74 in Tyrone and with the arrest of 17-year-old Riverdale resident Qyderricko Holmes.
The call about the stolen car on Sept. 11 came nearly simultaneously with multiple reports of entering auto crimes shortly before 1 p.m., according to Peachtree City Police. Also involved was a black Dodge Charger spotted in Peachtree City and later abandoned in College Park as the driver fled from officers, according to previous reports.
The nine entering auto incidents on Sept. 11 occurred at businesses and offices on Senoia Road, Hwy. 74 North, on Wisdom Road and Westpark Drive and at a residence on South Fairfield Drive.
Department spokesman Mark Brown said items recovered from the black Charger included a 9mm handgun, a purse and day planner, a satchel containing school supplies and a Gerber pocket knife. Brown said forced entry into was made in all instances, adding that, in terms of charges, the matter is still under investigation.
Two additional incidents of entering auto were reported on Sept. 16 at World Gym on Lexington Circle off Ga. Highway 54. Peachtree City Police have released a photo of the man who is a person of interest in the crimes.
