Mr. Bryant Whitlock, age 85, of Jonesboro, Ga. passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
He was born in Fayette County on September 29, 1929 to the late E. C. and Bertie Lee Moore Whitlock. Mr. Whitlock retired from Clayton County Transportation in 2006. He was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church. Mr. Whitlock served in the United States Army. A devoted father and grandfather, he cherished time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ruth Whitlock, daughter Mary Helen Whitlock, son Danny Bryant Whitlock, granddaughter Kayla Danielle Whitlock of Jonesboro, sister Clois (Ronnie) Bass of Fayetteville and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by sisters Virginia Banks, Francis Moore, Adeline Mask and brothers Milton Whitlock, Marvin Whitlock, Thomas Whitlock and Edwin Whitlock.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Reverend Rick Whitlock officiating. Interment followed the service in the Whitlock Family Cemetery in Peachtree City, Ga. The family received friends Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5 -7 p.m. at the funeral home.
