Some local cross-country teams competed at last weekend’s Battle of Atlanta at Nash Farm in Hampton.
McIntosh reported the varsity girls finishing fifth and the varsity boys coming in eighth.
Their top female runners were Alyssa LeClaire (20:31), Rachel Ward (21:18) and Nicole Zaubi (21:25). Leading the team’s male runners were Connor Koscevic (17:26), Brian Doyle (17:28) and Conner Reynolds (17:38).
Nicole Fegans of Landmark was the top over female runner at the meet with a time of 18:53.
East Coweta competed against 21 other schools in the Bob Blastow Early Bird meet.
The varsity boys finished fourth overall with an season-best average time of 18:22 and a spread between first and fifth place of only 1:09. All ten members of the boys team finished in less than 20 minutes. By comparison, the team finished 17th in the same race last season. This year’s squad placed ahead of Region 3-AAAAAA teams Campbell, Douglas County and Newnan.
The varsity girls finished seventh overall with a 23:39 average time, ahead of 3-AAAAAA foes Newnan and Douglas County.
