Dorothy Lucille Campbell, 99, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was born in Athens, Ala. to Jerome and Elizabeth Sandridge on May 29, 1916.
Mrs. Campbell was the oldest member of Bethel Baptist Church and sang in the choir until she was 92. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.
Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Campbell; her son, Benjamin Lamar Campbell and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Summers of Fayetteville, June McMahon (John) of McDonough, and Delores Barker (Frank) of Aiken, S.C.; her sons, Milton Campbell (Barbara) of Peachtree City and Jim Campbell (Betty) of Morrow; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Bethel Baptist Church, 10 S.W. Flint River Road, Jonesboro, Ga. 30238.
