Oliver Kenneth Watkins, 20, graduated July 24 from the United States Coast Guard boot camp at the USCG Training Center in Cape May, N.J. Watkins successfully completed intensive training requirements among 82 graduates with Kilo-191 company.
While in training, Watkins received personal recognition as Expert Marksman and company recognition of perfect scores in MOA (Manual of Arms) and COD (Closed Order Drill).
He has now reported to his first duty station at Port Canaveral, Fla., and will begin his service upon the USCG Cutter Vigilant.
He is the son of Pamela Woodworth-Jones and Bill Jones of Gambier, Ohio, and Ken Watkins of Fayetteville. He is the grandson of David and Mary Woodworth of Newnan, Estelle Morales of Fayetteville, and Sonny and Vicky Watkins of Thomaston.
