Coweta County Schools will welcome students to a new school year Friday, August 7.

Parents who need to register their children for school can do so before the start of the new school year. The school system’s Central Registration Center at 167 Werz Industrial Drive in Newnan offers web-based pre-registration through the school system’s website (www.cowetaschools.org), and is open to accept new registrations throughout the summer months.

Parents and students will be able to visit their school on the day before the start of the new year – Thursday, Aug. 6. While many schools will hold additional back-to-school functions (check school websites for more information), all schools will hold student orientation at these times Aug. 6:

All middle schools: 10 a.m.-noon.

All elementary schools: noon-2 p.m.

All high schools: 2-4 p.m.

Teachers will not be available for formal conferences during the Aug. 6 Orientation Day. Representatives from the school system’s transportation department will be available at all schools for information about bus schedules, and representatives from the school system’s after-school program will be available to register students.

For complete information on registration, visit www.cowetaschools.org.
