Peachtree City officials released the following information this week about Lake Peachtree.

Dredging is underway, and everyone is advised to stay out of construction zones, including Drake Field, during this project. Drake Field is closed for the duration and is serving as the staging area for the dredged material.

Due to the recent rains, work is projected to extend into August.

City and county staff have worked with the fireworks and dredging contractors to hold the fireworks July 4, weather permitting.

Temporary spillway repairs are complete. Fayette County has completed grouting the existing voids in the spillway.

The Battery Way boat dock will be replaced at the same location with a new structure once Lake Peachtree has been refilled.
