Angels among us: Donor gives kidney to Tyrone man

Do you believe in angels?

I do. May 1st one blessed our family, specifically my 35-year-old son Kyle Watson who lives in Tyrone, by donating a kidney to him.

He has been on dialysis for four years, three times a week for 4.5 hours each treatment. For someone this age in their prime, it surely affects their lifestyle.

The donor, whose husband works with Kyle, only met Kyle in October 2014, started being tested in December and was cleared right after the first of the year. The testing for donation is very intense and strict but was passed with flying colors.

In the two weeks post surgery, further testing has revealed no inflammation and, most important, there are no signs of rejection.

Talking with her in the hospital, she does not acknowledge or comprehend what she has done for Kyle by improving his quality of life.

Such an unselfish act of sacrifice can only be from an angel. That earth angel is Sherrie Stoddard, who lives in Senoia.

God bless her. Yes, I believe in angels.
