Morgan Barham, a rising third-year law student and native of Peachtree City, was recently recognized with one of three Luther Lee Scholarship Awards and also was awarded an Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

The Luther Lee Scholarship is awarded to students with a primary interest in trial practice. The scholarship was established in honor of Luther Lee, a 1950 alumnus, legendary trial practitioner in Columbia, S.C., and a pioneer of personal injury trial practice.

The law school also is known for its extremely strong pro bono program and each year service awards are presented to students who demonstrate their commitment to public service through pro bono activities. This year, Barham was among 10 students honored.

“I am incredibly honored to receive these awards. At the beginning of law school, I was unsure about where my education and career path would take me. Joining the law school’s Mock Trial Bar and the pro bono program helped me discover my passion,” Barham said.

The presentation was made in April during the School of Law’s annual Awards Day Ceremony, which seeks to honor students and faculty members for their outstanding achievements during the academic year.
