Peachtree City United Methodist Church recently installed a brand new digital organ.
Designed and built by the Allen Organ Company, the organ is a Quantum Q-350 with 3 manuals, 50 stops, custom modifications and an HQ 14-channel audio system.
The church raised the funds needed to replace the old organ last year when it was discovered that parts and service were no longer available for their 29-year-old model.
To commemorate this event, there will be an inaugural concert this Sunday, May 17 at 4 p.m., in the worship center on Robinson Road, featuring special guest artist Tom Alderman, organist and music associate at Roswell United Methodist Church.
A free-will offering will be received, and an ice cream social will follow the concert.
The second inaugural concert will be held on Sunday, Sept.13 at 4 p.m. This concert will feature choir master/organist, Mike Strain along with his wife, Cathy Strain who will present “A Concert of Music for Voice, Organ and Piano.”
