Camilla Moore, political scientist, author, and public administrator, will be the guest speaker at the Greater Fayette Republican Women’s Club meeting on April 9 in Fayetteville.
Moore is the director of Planning, Zoning and Economic Development for Riverdale and a member of the Republican National Committee’s African-American Advisory Council. Fellow members of the council include Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina along with the former Mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and recently elected U.S. Rep. Mia Love.
Moore will discuss her thoughts about the history and struggles of conservative blacks in U.S. politics. Her book, “Black Conservatism and Its’ Quest for Relevancy” (scheduled to be published in June), gives people an inside view of the lonely struggle of black conservatives in America.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Tim’s Country Kitchen, 221 Banks Station, Fayetteville, and is open to all who are interested. The meal is a buffet dinner priced at $10.
