Edward M. Davis, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Vick Davis; his first wife and mother of his children, Jeanette Harrell Davis; his second wife, Martha Ann Hipp Davis; brother Jerry Davis; and sister, Pauline Babb Boyd.
He was a long-time member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Edward was owner of Davis Ford in Fayetteville until 1981. He served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Earles (Steve), Ellen Davis, Suzanne Tripp (Dale), Harrell Davis; his grandchildren, Mark McElwaney (Jennifer), Chris McElwaney, Claudia Earles, Holly Davis Longino (Jeff), Hal Davis (Jennifer), and Jena Power (Phillip); eight great-grandchildren; and his siblings and sister-in-law, Mildred Swygert, Inez White, Joyce Babb (William), Dean Davis (Joyce), and Harriett Davis Parham. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Reverend Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment followed the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family received friends prior to the service.
