The McDonald’s restaurant on Fayetteville’s south side was robbed on Feb. 20 by an armed man who entered the restaurant by climbing through the drive-thru window after brandishing a firearm.

Det. Mike Whitlow said the robbery occurred at approximately 11 p.m. A white woman driving a dark SUV pulled up to the drive-thru and placed an order for fries. Once at the window, a light-skinned black male believed to be accompanying her approached the window and brandished a firearm in the direction of the store employee, demanding that he open the window, Whitlow said.

The man climbed through the window and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash, Whitlow said.

Money in hand, the man exited through the window, said Whitlow.

The circumstances of the robbery were similar to one that occurred at the same location a few months ago, Whitlow said.

Whitlow said investigators are currently reviewing surveillance video.
