Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will host The Susquehanna University Choir in concert on Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m.
Susquehanna is a Lutheran liberal arts university in Selinsgrove, Pa. The SU Chamber Singers will also be featured. Dr. Julia Brasher Thorn, the conductor, was once an elementary music specialist in Dekalb County, and wrote that she is “thrilled to be returning to the metro area.”
The concert, “Fill My Life with Spring,” will feature a variety of musical styles. According to Thorn, “Beloved composers Bach and Mendelssohn will be complimented by music of composers that are writing today … [along with] folk songs, spirituals, hymn arrangements, and even a popular tune or two.”
There is no admission charge, but a free will offering will be collected to help pay student travel expenses.
The church is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.
