Steve Waldrop, Jr. of Fayetteville passed away February 13, 2015.

He was born on January 2, 1929 in Atlanta, Ga. at Georgia Baptist Hospital and was the first baby born in Atlanta in 1929.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Waldrop, Sr. and Enola Waldrop.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy P. Waldrop; son, Harold S. Waldrop and his wife Sandi; grandson, Steven M. Waldrop; granddaughter, Sarah M. Waldrop; step-grandson, Ryan Harman; sister-in-law, Faye Waldrop and many nieces and nephews.

Steve proudly served in the USAF from 1948-1951 in Japan. He worked on C46 and C47 planes. Steve worked for Delta Airlines for 40 years in the maintenance department, where he retired as a general foreman. He always enjoyed the family atmosphere that was present at Delta during his tenure.

Steve is a member of Woolsey Baptist Church. Steve’s wife, Patsy, said Steve was the best husband and father anyone could wish for. He was a very caring, generous and honest person.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park.
