As part of its “Grow Deeper Series,” Peachtree City United Methodist Church is hosting a study session on the upcoming Lent Season.
Participants will learn what Lent means in the Christian faith.
Lent is the Christian season of preparation before Easter. Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, marks the first day, or the start of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.
The purpose of Lent is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ – his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection.
Grow Deeper: Lent study session will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m.-noon, Room #304 at the Robinson Road campus (225 Robinson Road, Peachtree City).
