Donna Massey is the Newnan City Hall Artist of the month for February.

The Alabama native and current Newnan resident discovered the versatility of acrylics while still in high school and continues to make that her medium of choice. She enjoys painting pastoral landscapes that depict a quiet and peaceful lifestyle, creating a slice of serenity in her busy life as working wife and mother.

She graduated from Atlanta Christian College with a degree in Christian Education, but continued to enjoy art as a hobby. A career change, however, allowed Massey to renew her focus on art and she is currently taking painting and drawing classes.

Local and regional exhibits of Massey’s original paintings have been at the Carnegie Library in historic downtown Newnan, the PAPP Clinic in Sharpsburg, the Peachtree City Public Library, and the Arts Clayton Gallery in Jonesboro. See more of her work at www.FineArtAmerica.com.

She is an active member of Arts Clayton and the Newnan Coweta Art Association (NCAA), and has had paintings juried into the NCAA Annual Member Show for three consecutive years. Massey also won third place in the Acrylic and Mixed Media category at the NCAA’s 2014 Spring Fling Show.
