Mr. Jan Vanloo, age 87, of Tyrone passed away peacefully surrounded by family, January 21, 2014.
Mr. Vanloo was born in Ermelo Holland, November 10, 1927 to Willem and Wijmpje Vanloo. In 1954 he moved to Canada where he was a mechanical welder. He moved to the United States in 1964 and was employed for 24 years as a mechanic with Eastern Airlines in Miami and Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Vanloo loved to travel throughout their marriage all over the world. He was a lover of history.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Yolanda Marion Vanloo, Ingrid Darlene McCorkle and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ditty Vanloo of Tyrone; sons, Willem John Vanloo and his wife Shannon of Tyrone, Richard Vanloo of Palmetto; grandchildren, Michael William Klapp, Jon Erik Vanloo, Hannah Jane Vanloo and Sean Kuiper Vanloo.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Morgan Morse Hay officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
