On January 19, 2015 W.A. (Bill) Strickland, age 80, of Newnan passed from this life into his heavenly home.
He was preceded in death by father and mother, E.B. and Cora Strickland; brothers, Harry, Ed and Sonny; sisters, Margie and Betty.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane Harbin Strickland; sister, Shirley Jane Lear of LaGrange; daughter, Cindy Strickland Ralston and husband Ray of Hiram; sons, David and wife Terri of Peachtree City; Michael Ashley of Newnan; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bill’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
He served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division and retired from Delta Airlines after 39 years of service.
The visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory in Fairburn.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church of Tyrone with remains placed in state at 1 p.m. Ministers Gary Boyd, Rich DeWeese and Clay Hining officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
