Clayton State University has announced the second class to be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame.
The group includes Charlie Frazier of men’s basketball, Allison Kreutzer of women’s cross country and track, and women’s basketball’s Lisa Williams as well as special inductee Dr. Joseph S. Wilkes, who has served as the program’s team physician since its inception in 1990.
This group’s accomplishments span the first 25 years of Clayton State Athletics and features champions and ground breakers. They will be inducted as the 2015 class and will be honored at the Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony on Friday, Jan. 30.
Frazier was a four-year starter for the Lakers men’s basketball program from 1998-2002. During that time he helped lead the program to its first-ever Peach Belt Conference regular season championship.
Among his career marks is being the third all-time leading scorer in program history with 1,243 points – he is one of just six 1,000-point scorers in team history.
Since graduating, Frazier has gone on to become the assistant principal at Henderson Middle School in Jackson, GA, as well as a basketball coach for the school.
Kreutzer was a three-sport star and one of the most decorated student-athletes in the 25-year history of Clayton State Athletics, earning four All-American honors, multiple Southeast Region Runner of the Year awards, a pair of Peach Belt Conference Championships and a Region Championship among a bevy of program records.
She truly made her mark as a cross country runner, earning back-to-back All-American recognition in 2004 and 2005 and was the 2004 NCAA Division II national runner-up.
Much like her cross country career, she also holds numerous program records in both indoor and outdoor track.
Wilkes is a specialist in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, hand surgery, arthroscopy and joint replacement and has served as Clayton State Athletics’ team physician since the program’s inception in 1990. He is one of only two current individuals — the other being head cross country and track coach Mike Mead — to be associated with the department since its beginning.
Williams is arguably the best player in the history of the women’s basketball program. Playing from 1994-98, she still ranks as the all-time career leader in points (1,415), rebounds (796), defensive rebounds (578) and free throws (306).
During her career, she helped to break new ground for the Lakers as the 1994-95 squad went a then- program best 19-13 and won the Georgia Athletic Conference for the first time in team history.
Individually, Williams still holds nine additional Top-10 career marks, including second in field goals (539) and field goal percentage (.548), fifth in offensive rebounds (218), sixth in games (113), points per game (12.5) and rebounds per game (7.0), eighth in games started (80) and steals (175) and is tied for tenth in blocked shots (62).
The Clayton State Athletics Hall of Fame was created in 2013 to honor former student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty/staff and community members who have, by their outstanding achievements, contributed to the ideals of the Clayton State Department of Athletics.
For the first time, tickets to the Clayton State Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony can be purchased online. Tickets for the event at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 are $25 each and can be purchased at https://giving.clayton.edu/HOF.
This year’s Hall of Fame Ceremony will be held on campus in room 101 of the Harry S. Downs Center.
