The Coweta County Commission on Dec. 2 adopted a resolution requesting that the General Assembly add two positions to the Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority board.

County Administrator Michael Fouts in a Nov. 25 letter recommended that commissioners ask the legislature to increase the number of authority members from three to five. Doing so would align the number of authority board members to that of the county commission.

Authority CEO Jay Boren at the meeting was asked by Commissioner Tim Lassetter if he thought increasing the number of board members would be of a benefit to the authority.

Boren said he did believe adding two boards members would be a benefit, adding that he saw no objection to the move.

Current board members include Neal Shepard, Eric Smith and Laurie Bartlett.
