Daniel Anthony Depweg, 56, passed away in McDonough, Ga. on November 30, 2014 at his home. He was born on February 3, 1958 in Hamilton, Ohio. Dan was married to Carrie Tolmie in 1981, and they raised two children together, Holly and Chris.

Dan attended Providence College and Fairfield University. He held management positions for Fed Ex, Control, Aramark, Sodexo, and Lick-Wilmerding High School. Dan resided in several states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, California, and Georgia.

Dan was a generous, warm-hearted man who loved his family, his friends, and the Georgia mountains. He loved music and was always in charge of the tunes for every gathering. Dan was well known for his wonderful bear hugs. He had a lifelong love of the ocean and spent time on the water whenever he had the chance.

Dan is preceded in death by his father, Frank Anthony Depweg.

He is survived by his mother, Irma Jean Holbrock Depweg, his wife Carrie Tolmie Depweg, his daughter Holly Ann Depweg Herron (Kenneth), his son Christopher Daniel Depweg, his grandchildren Jordan Grace Depweg, Kenneth Bentley Depweg, Mason Anthony Herron, and Aliyah Hope Herron. He is also survived by his siblings: Tawny McClellan (Larry), Kay Collins (Jack), Jody Porter (Kevin), Craig Tolmie (Gaye), and Carl Tolmie. Dan also leaves behind six nephews, seven nieces, five grandnephews, and two grandnieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) in Dan’s honor.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 2 p.m. in McDonough, Ga. at the McDonough First United Methodist Church. Rick Maeser will officiate.

Family and friends are invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
