Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will kick off a year’s celebrations to mark the church’s 40th anniversary this weekend.

Founding pastor John Weber will preach at worship services on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Weber led the first service on Dec. 1, 1974, at Glenloch Recreation Center, and then served the church for 34 years. The congregation met in a warehouse on Dividend Drive until the first Church building was finished in 1978.

The 11 a.m. service is combined with the 10:50 service this week, and a variety of music will be offered by Sanctuary Choir, Joyful Noise Ringers, “2nd Sundays” Praise Team, GraceFlock Band, and COS Winds (made up of members of three groups: Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, and the COS Brass).

Those charter members who are present will be recognized. All are welcome.
