Jane Elizabeth Carroll, 82 of Fayetteville, Ga. died peacefully the 11th of November, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
Jane was born on January 7th, 1932 with her twin sister, Jean, in Far Rockaway, N.Y., to James and Olla Larkin. Jane graduated from St. Agnes High School, in Rockville Centre, N.Y. and went on to Immaculata College where she majored in Home Economics. It was there that she met her future husband Edward Long. Together they raised 8 children in Rowayton, Conn. Edward died suddenly leaving Jane a single mother only to face the tragic death of her daughter Mary Beth two years later. Jane persevered with the help and support of family, friends and her faith in God. In 1973, Jane married Kevin Carroll and they had two more children.
Jane had a great sense of humor and her smile would light up a room. Jane was known for her sharp wit, gracefulness and warmth. She was an active parishioner and volunteer at Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Jane loved to summer in Crescent Beach with her large extended family. Jane was a long time resident of New Canaan, Conn. and moved to Fayetteville, Ga. in 1999.
Jane was pre-deceased by her daughter Mary Elizabeth Long, her twin sister Jean White and her grandson Charles Tyler Hill.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Carroll and her nine children: Cathy Pitts (Joseph), Patricia Hill (Fred), James Long (Maureen), Raymond Long (Maria), Edward Long (Elizabeth), Michael Long (Lynn), Colleen Tracy (Victor), Elizabeth Carroll and Brian Carroll.
A memorial service will take place at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Peachtree City, Ga. The funeral service will be held at Saint Aloysius R.C. Church in New Canaan, Conn. There will be a private burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk, Conn. Details regarding specific service dates and times as well donations (in lieu of flowers) can be found at janecarroll1932.com
