Woodard Travis Whitaker, 73, of Fayetteville, Ga. was a native Georgian born in Fitzgerald, Ga., on January 7, 1941.
Travis passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, November 2, 2014. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Travis worked for Delta Airlines 34 years and was a long-time member of Lisbon Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking, carpentry, and peach ice cream. His greatest loves were his family and his church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gladys Whitaker of Forest Park, Ga., his brother Wright, and his sister Nan Carter.
He is survived by his wife Dianne; their sons, Jeff (Sandra) and Tim (Paige); grandchildren, Josie, Michael, Alex and Austin. He is also survived by his brother Irwin and sisters Carlese Wood and Betty Lindsey.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lisbon Baptist Church, Fayetteville.
