Servant Weekend at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church includes nine events. Volunteers are needed for some while others are offered as a service to the community.
The American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19, from 2:30-7:30 p.m. Sign up online to donate at coslutheran.org/red-cross. During the same hours flu shots will be administered at the church; the cost is $25.99, with Medicare and other insurance accepted. Contact officeadministrator@coslutheran.org for more information.
“Baked with Love” sale of home-baked goods is a two-day event, Friday, from 1-7:30 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Summer Lunch Program.
The Free Market Exchange offers household goods at no cost Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations will be accepted from 7-11 a.m., but donations are not required to participate.
Document shredding is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., courtesy of Thrivent Financial.
Up to 33 golf cart path segments will be cleaned up throughout the weekend. To choose a route, call the church, 770-487-8717.
Clean-up at Rescue Cats Shelter is Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (laurieshames@gmail.com or ptcgabear@bellsouth.net)
Volunteers will mulch the playground and address several other tasks at the Joseph Sams School Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (bspruck@bellsouth.net)
And singers will assemble at the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday before going to Arbor Terrace to sing with senior citizens (kr110@comcast.net)
