0John Edward Crain, Jr., 69, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was a graduate of the University of Memphis and retired after 35 years with Pitney Bowes. Mr. Crain was a loving Papa to his girls.
He was preceded in death by his parents Verna & John E. Crain, Sr.; brother William Crain; and sisters Joanne Nellis, Carolyn McCormick, and Janet Crain.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy C. “Dotty” Crain of Fayetteville; daughter Claire (Nathan) Monroe of Hampton; granddaughters Maya Monroe & Alexa Monroe of Hampton; brother Lawrence (Jane) Crain of Tucker; also numerous nieces & nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 12 p.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel. Fr. Michael McWhorter will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
