An 18-year-old Senoia man faces child molestation charges for actions committed in 2010 and 2011 when he was a juvenile.
The man was charged with two counts of child molestation, according to Senoia Det. Jason Ercole, adding that the man’s name is not being released because the crime was committed while he was a juvenile.
Ercole said the man was arrested on July 9 after an investigation conducted by the Senoia Police Dept. that spanned a five-month period.
“The victim made an outcry to a counselor back in February of this year alleging that back in 2010 and 2011, she was sexually molested by her neighbor who at the time was also a juvenile,” Ercole said.
Ercole said the counselor, as required by law, notified Senoia police.
“The acts are alleged to have occurred at the victim’s home in Senoia,” Ercole said. “The charges against the man are being prosecuted in the Coweta County Juvenile Court.”
Ercole said Senoia police at this time are not aware of any other victims.
