Peachtree City’s annual July 4 parade begins at 9 a.m. on Peachtree Parkway South. This year’s Public Safety Demo will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Drake Field (adjacent to City Hall). Meet Peachtree City’s firefighters and police officers, see the canines, join in the annual water battle, watch the Jaws of Life demo, and tour the fire safety bus. Bring along your bicycle and helmet for a bike safety rodeo with a police mountain bike instructor. While you’re there, check out the new 4th Fest at City Hall Plaza, featuring live music by “This Side Up” and “Second Chance.” Activities will include a rock climbing wall, inflatables, face painting, contests, public safety demonstrations, food vendors, local nonprofit organizations, and much more!
Then close out Independence Day with Peachtree City’s fabulous fireworks display beginning at dusk.

Main Street Newnan kicks off Newnan’s Fourth of July activities with the July 4 parade at 9 a.m. The Newnan Rotary Club kicks off the fireworks festivities at 5:30 p.m. where the gates at Drake Stadium will be open with family fun and fireworks until dark. Concessions will be available at 6 p.m.. Traditional holiday fare will be on hand with hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks.

There will be musical entertainment by Musicology’s Doug Kees from 6:30 p.m, to 8:30 p.m. The event is sure to please the whole family with bounces houses provided for children along with free souvenirs for the kids.

The Senoia Social is today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Southern Ground Social Club, Senoia Come support the 2nd Annual Southern Ground Senoia Social, benefiting Camp Southern Ground! Enjoy a fun-filled block party jam-packed with good music, great food and lots of fun for the entire family! Entry is free and the entire event benefits Camp Southern Ground. The Fayette County Republican Party’s First Saturday Breakfast is today. Continental breakfast ($5) begins at 8:30 a.m., and the program begins at 9 a.m. This Saturday’s program will present the run-off candidates for School Board Post 4, Diane Basham and Jane Owens and State Senate District 16 candidates Marty Harbin and David Studdard, along with representatives from Ga. US Senate race between Jack Kingston and David Purdue to answer any of your last minute questions before you vote.

The” Music Man” palys at the Legacy Theatre in Tyrone tonight at 7:30 p.m. The musical is family entertainment at it’s best. The show follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. “Trouble,” “My White Knight,” and “76 Trombones” are just a few of the show stopping numbers in the Meredith Willson classic. A Company of Friends Theatrical Productions presents their Professional Troupe in the hilarious, audience
participation, musical production “The Princess and the Pea” accompanied by a fun after show party at the Royal Castle. This excellent event is ideal for the entire family and will take place at the Fayetteville Train Depot at 250 Lanier Ave. East in Fayetteville Come meet all the zany characters of our Kingdom and share in the fun of this 45-minute musical that has been touring Georgia since late May to audience cheers and standing room only performance. Come join the riders and volunteers of SouthSide Cycling Club for a relaxing bike ride through beautiful central Georgia! Light traffic. This ride offers options of 8.2, 33, 66 and 99 miles. Fully provisioned rest stops no further than 20 miles apart on all routes. Free T-shirts. Coupons and good deals after in and around historic Senoia. The 99 mile ride kicks off at 7 a.m. at Senoia United Methodist Church.
The 66 and 33 start at 8AM. The 8 mile family fun ride will start shortly after, about 8:30 a.m. There is a 10 percent discount for Southside Cycling Club members with early registration. Early registration is $34 through June 30. SSCC Club members- $29 also through June 30.
