St. Paul Lutheran Church will welcome its new pastor, Paul Stark, with a combined service on July 6 at 10 a.m. The service will serve to welcome Stark as well as to celebrate the Fourth of July.
A family picnic will follow the service at 11:30.
Chef Preble will prepare hot dogs, hamburgers, and all sides.
Other features will include a 12-foot water slide, large bounce house, snow cone machine, face painting for the kids along with water balloon toss and egg toss, and other competitive games.
A kickball game will begin at 12:15 and field games will begin at 1 p.m..
The Peachtree City Fire Department will provide one of its fire trucks so kids can see the truck up close. Bingo will be held in the cafeteria for those who like to stay indoors. The public is welcome to attend.
Stark comes to Peachtree City from Missouri. Although he officially began his ministry at St. Paul’s on July 1, his first sermon will be delivered on Sunday, July 13.
Stark brings with him 20 years of experience as a pastor in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He has served congregations in California and Missouri, and has created and leads a nonprofit ministry called “Pillar.”
Stark and his wife, Linda, have two children, Taylor, a freshman in college, and Jacob a junior in high school).
The regular Sunday worship schedule at St. Paul’s includes an 8 a.m. traditional service followed by contemporary service at 11 a.m.
St. Paul Lutheran is at 700 Ardenlee Parkway in Peachtree City.
