A Peachtree City native has reached the biggest stage in professional tennis, taking to the court at the All-England Club for the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Kevin King, who has recently climbed to a ranking of 329 in singles and 132 in doubles, teamed with fellow American Ryan Harrison in the men’s doubles draw. The duo lost their first-round match to Eric Butorac of the United States and Raven Klaasen of South Africa (4-6, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4).

Before turning pro, King played at Georgia Tech and was a three-time All-ACC performer and two-time All-American before graduating in Dec. 2012 with a degree in mechanical engineering.

His most recent wins include singles and doubles titles at a Mexico City Futures event and a doubles win at a Challenger event in Panama.
