Starr’s Mill High School will be well represented at the 75th annual Miss Georgia Pageant this June 18 – 21 in Columbus.

Four young ladies from Starr’s Mill will be competing for scholarship and the right to represent Georgia.

Abigail Feltner, 2014 Miss Starr’s Mill High School, and Emma Wernecke, 2013 Miss Starr’s Mill High School, will both be competing for the title of Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen.

Feltner, who holds the title of Miss Starr’s Mill Outstanding Teen is competing for the first time in the pageant, and Wernecke, who holds the title Miss Peachtree City Outstanding Teen, is competing for the second year. Last year she was a top ten finalist.

The young ladies are divided into three groups. Each preliminary night each group competes in a different phase of competition. Feltner and Wernecke are not in the same preliminary groups.

Saturday evening the top 10 will be announced and those girls will compete in all three phases again. This winner will be crowned and will represent Georgia at the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando this August.

Elizabeth Buckalew, Miss Starr’s Mill High School 2011 and the reigning Miss Cumming Fair, will compete in the Miss Georgia division. Buckalew is now a student at UGA. She will be joined by Lindsay Quandt, a former Miss Starr’s Mill Pageant contestant and top 10 finalist. Quandt holds the title of Miss Whitewater, a pageant based out of Columbus. She is also a UGA student.

The top ten will be named Saturday evening and the winner will represent Georgia at the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, NJ this September.

The pageant is not televised, but it will be live streamed. For tickets and live stream information, visit the Miss Georgia website at www.missga.org
