McIntosh’s soccer teams made it a double-good night, winning both the AAAAA championship finals and ending the boys’ second-straight undefeated season with their 44th win in a row Friday night at the Kennesaw State University football stadium.

The Lady Chiefs got the evening started with a tight tilt with Starr’s Mill. Jackie Gray struck first for McIntosh more than halfway through the first half, but six minutes later a goal from Sara Yoss knotted the score at 1-1.

The first-half action wasn’t done though, as Amy Brewer and Amanda Bartholomew laced in goals to make it a 3-1 lead at the half. McIntosh finished strong and Brewer added one more goal with 2:29 left in the second half to seal the victory and rile the fans up.

In the boys’ match, Didrik Cooper-Seip put the Chiefs ahead near the halfway mark of the first half, and in the next 10 minutes Adam Sheikali struck twice to make it 3-nil. Houston County notched a goal with 8:41 left to make it 3-1 at the half.

It was in the second period that the Chiefs began to pull away. Cooper-Seip punched in two more goals to make the hat trick and a wide-open 5-1 lead. With 15 minutes left Justin Magee scored a sixth goal, followed three minutes later by a score from Luke Mohney to make it 7-1. McIntosh managed to score once more with 10 seconds left on a chip-lob shot that arced in the net, though it was unclear who was credited with the goal.
